With the fundamental concept of ‘creating music that transverse through time and space’, ORANGECOVE, a Singaporean-based Electronic-Chill Rock band made up of four futurist individuals, are set to redefine the rock anthems of the 21st century.
Having played in numerous festivals such as “Baybeats”, “IGNITE! Music Festival”, “Music Matters”, and being part of the opening act for American bands – “We the Kings” & “This Wild Life”, these young guns have come a long way since the inception of their music odyssey back in 2006.
Heavily influenced by bands like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Paramore in their early years to M83, Chvrches, The Naked And Famous in their recent sounds. The band started their formative years writing songs about parties and good old love songs such as “La La Ladies Night” and “Losing my Mind” which will go on to be the building bricks for their self-titled EP “Our Time is now!” released digitally in 2014. Frontman Kenneth said: “We always emphasise on three things at our shows – everyone have to sing, dance and have fun”.
Despite these milestones, their music journey weren’t always smooth sailing. Making music in Singapore is an uphill battle, littered with rejections and disapprovals. Years of rough experience have fuelled the band to churn out songs like “Here We Go Again” and their latest single “We are Infinite” which is set to release late 2018. “These songs are anthems for those on the brink of giving up to keep fighting.” Ben continued to explain, “Music is a journey of self-enlightenment and it’s discovered through melodic scriptures.”
Converging electronics and slow rock elements, the band got back in the studio in early 2017 to experiment on new sounds and styles for their second upcoming EP set to release in 2019.
